The Livingston County Democratic Party  has announced a contest to find the worst pothole in the county.

The Democrats said there are hundreds of miles of poor roads in the county, and they want to know which one is "really the worst."

In announcing the Worst of the Worst contest, the county Democrats accused the all-Republican county Board of Commissioners of having "the wrong kind of priorities for our county" by not funding more road fixes.

The county board appoints members to the nonpartisan Livingston County Road Commission but the commission plans road projects as a separate entity.

Those interest in joining the contest can submit a photograph of what they think is the worst pothole in the county by e-mailing them to livcodems@sbcuc.net.

The deadline is Oct. 27 at noon.

For more information about the program, call (248) 851-3993.

Sign the Petition

The Michigan Transportation Team (MTT) recently announced an online petition drive for citizens who are tired of driving on pothole-riddled streets. Although the petition is non-binding and will not change the law, the names of petition signers will be presented to state policymakers to demonstrate the level of support in Michigan for investing in our state’s infrastructure.
