There are 10,754 roadway bridges in Michigan. Of these, 4,411 are on the state highway system and 6,343 are located on county roads or city streets.
The statutory width of Michigan's road right of way is 33 feet, or two rods (16.5 feet times two), on either side of the road's centerline.

The Michigan Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) today announced a statewide evaluation concluding that infrastructure conditions in Michigan are dismal, receiving a cumulative grade of D.
